Oliver & Lorraine Evans

Senior Servants

Oliver and Lorraine serve as the senior leaders of the fellowship, casting vision and encouraging people generally to get closer to Jesus! Oly is part of the Sports Chaplaincy UK family, and is Chaplain to Bradford City Football Club. In 2024, Oliver was appointed as an Ecumenical Canon at Bradford Cathedral.

We believe the next seven years will be a significant period at The Rock Church – ‘2025-2032’ as we look to move forward into all that God has for us as a church fellowship.

We joined the church in 2011 and have ten distinctives as a Church community. We use these as a plumbline in our teaching and discipleship programme.

Hello Rock Church.

Marjorie and I are so looking forward to spending July and August with you all. We first visited your church back in 2013 and have taken a keen interest in your journey with the Lord ever since.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with us, we joined Huddersfield Christian Fellowship way back in 1988, so that’s 37 years and counting, and have had the tremendous privilege of serving on the senior leadership team for 32 of those years, indeed we’re still very much part of the team.

We have two sons, both of whom, together with their wives, are an integral part of the church and we’re blessed to see our five grandkids growing up in the church in much the same way as our sons did. In fact, there’s no better place than the House of God for families to grow together in the Lord.

While with you, one of the things we’re especially excited about are the mid-week Bible studies throughout most of July. During these studies we’re going to be looking into the subject of ‘Holiness’ which is so foundational to our relationship with God and we would really encourage you to join us on these evenings.

In total we’re with you over nine weekends and our hope is that by the end of that time you’ll have benefitted in some way from us being with you as we know that we’ll have benefited from being with you guys. One thing’s for sure, we’ll certainly know each other a lot better and for our part we can’t wait.
